I think you’ve struck an important chord here. We often push children to do more at younger and younger ages when they’re simply not ready. Thank you for making a space for those who just aren’t ready to master the books that we are told they “should” be reading and instead provide them with approachable and engaging texts that will help them find a love of reading.

Lunch Lady, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, even the Minecraft books, these types of books are so great for encouraging young readers. Part graphic novel and part beginner novel, they truly reel children in and give them the confidence they need to grow and thrive as learners and see that yes, reading is fun.
